In October 2009 I had my first trip to Door County, WI fishing for SM bass. I caught a 5.5-6lb SM bass and decided that this would be my first fish to be displayed on the wall. I’ve never really liked skin-mount fish because of how they look after time and I also had reservations about a replica because of how they tend to lack the detail of a skin mount. I always thought that Kevin’s replicas looked phenomenal and having the recent awards from taxidermist competitions made it a very easy choice for me to choose him. The pose of the SM bass, along with it mounted on a piece of driftwood and the three rocks, really makes this fish come to life. The coloration and attention to detail that went into this fish is also unbelievable.
